Construction of the levee in San Pancho would prevent pollution in Izotes River
The Operator Agency Of Water and Sewage (OROMAPAS) confirms that the levee at the rivers edge of the Izotes River in San Pancho will prevent raw sewage from spilling into it, as has been happening since the capacity of the plant treatment was exceeded.
According to the records of the work of that board cited a year ago, January 2013, when OROMAPAS and the State Water Commission (CEA) asked Inmobiliaria San Pancho (John Hardesty), to place an impulsive sewage line bound for the new treatment plant with the intent to cease disposing excess wastewater from the general population to the lagoon. While the rest of the partially treated waters are being sent to the lagoon, however once the impulsive line or piping are installed to the new treatment plant which has the capacity to serve 12 liters per second, the pollution to the lagoon which has been occurring for 15 years uninterrupted would be concluded.
The official file generated by the Directorate of Civil Protection Municipal which enjoins with OROMAPAS asks to close the piping immediately that is pouring sewage directly to the lagoon. The background studies dating from 2002 support that the pollution to the lagoon was constant and there has not been any environmental groups who have made mention of this ecocide registered in several water sources in the same village. Dead fish and dead birds were seen and photographed along the edge of the river Izotes San Pancho.
As a constant source of pollution this same report warns of increased dengue mosquitoes transmitters caused by the concentration of these waters favorable for reproduction. Although no official figures on an increase in cases of dengue type, San Pancho was always one of the communities where people regularly reported cases. In those grievances to public health and the ecological environment and the company Inmobiliaria San Pancho (John Hardesty) finally signed a contract with the municipality where it is established that the levee would be constructed within 10 meters from the federal zone along the lagoon and stream and thus install the impulsion line within the same achieving the connection between the two sanitation plants; with the piping installed underneath the levee it would become a boardwalk for public use on federal property.

Also interesting is that this pseudo news group expresses interest
in the communities opinions on the matter, then systematically erases each and
every comment contrary to their position and then blocks the users from making
any future comments on their page.
The truth of the matter is that the
return lines referred to in this report above were installed at the time of the
construction of the new plant approximately 3 years ago but they were never
made active. In fact the return lines that were installed in the original levee
at it’s historic border were interrupted by the developer involved while claiming
the lines were on his private property and at the same time presenting legal
obstacles that are still unresolved which has delayed the necessary
connections. Meanwhile the contamination of the lagoon has continued with the
full knowledge and complicity of the developer. Now incredibly it is being
reported that the new levee needs to be completed immediately to prevent
further contamination. Even though the new levee exceeds the limits of the
historic levee, infringes on the federal zone and adds considerably to the land
of the developer involved. Additionally there are the rather obvious impacts
that this project would have on the environment, the community, potential
flooding and the wildlife that frequent this area.
Now coincidentally there are reports
that the original treatment plant has mysteriously stopped functioning and has
zero treatment capacity, and that it is emitting 100% pure raw sewage into the
lagoon and ocean adding to the urgency for this project to proceed to resolve
this eco-disaster. The new plant could have been and should have been
functional at the time of its’ completion but apparently there were other
interests at work and they weren’t the interests of the community and the
environment.

SUSPENDIÓ LA OBRA de construcción del bordo (probablemente de forma temporal, no se puede defender lo indefendible, dijeron).
PROFEPA: Clausuró de forma parcial y temporal la obra. Inspeccionado incurrió en irregularidades como el relleno del cuerpo de agua con piedra y arena, dañó a vegetación, así como desplante de 136 m2. Con todas estas acciones se obstruyó el flujo hidrológico de un brazo del estero.

Hoy, el
03 de enero 2015, el ayuntamiento de Bahía de Banderas, Nayarit, determinó
suspender los trabajos de construcción.
El ayuntamiento de Bahía de Banderas, Nayarit, determinó
suspender los trabajos de construcción de bordo que realiza Inmobiliaria San
Pancho S de RL de CV de John Hardesty en el arroyo El Izote y la laguna de San
Francisco ante la fuerte presión realizada por la comunidad del mismo nombre,
enclavada frente al océano Pacífico (1).
Luego de que los vecinos decidieron bloquear los accesos hacia la zona de obras hoy a las 7:30 de la mañana (2), el Director de Desarrollo Urbano, Ecología y Desarrollo Territorial del municipio, Joao Zayas, acudió al lugar y dialogó con los vecinos molestos por el avance de los trabajos pese a las denuncias interpuestas ante la PROFEPA (3).

ResponderEliminarModesto Ibarra: Lamentable que esto esté ocurriendo, cuando los intereses de particulares están por encima del pueblo, las consecuencias son graves, no tenía que haber sucediendo esta grave alteración y contaminación del Estero. El error nace cuando involucran y comprometen las márgenes y cause del brazo alimentador del Estero y el propio Estero, el americano mezcló su territorio con el Estero, ya que vio un lugar estratégico esa parte de la playa para adueñarse de un área que es federal, pero la ignorancia y corrupción de las autoridades y la ambición del americano, están poniendo en alto riesgo, un daño ecológico irreversible a la desembocadura y del único desfogue natural, que tiene la playa de san Pancho. No conforme con todo eso, ahora el americano echa mano de sus recursos económicos para cumplir sus deseos. Hasta donde llega el egoísmo de algunos individuos...
